Yi Ern, i2 Energy: IJM has been working with i2 Energy on the solar installation. How has it been on your end?
Wen Yin, IJM Land: Before we go right in, why don't we make ourselves comfortable with a coffee and have a seat.
Yi Ern, i2 Energy: So how is sustainability built into IJM's projects?
Wen Yin, IJM Land: For us, sustainability is one of our main priorities across all projects. We think about it from day one. It's part of the planning, design and construction, so it's not just an extra box to tick.
Yi Ern, i2 Energy: I see, so it's all in one package.
Wen Yin, IJM Land: You're right.
Yi Ern, i2 Energy: Since this is a gallery, it's temporary. Why bring solar here?
Wen Yin, IJM Land: Even though the gallery is a temporary space, we want to show our customers that renewable energy is not just a concept. It's actually working here, so you can see it powering the space.
Yi Ern, i2 Energy: What stands out about working with us?

i2 Energy designed and delivered the commercial solar that powers IJM Land's I.C.E. gallery at Pantai Central Park, running its air conditioning, lighting and displays. For a developer that builds sustainability into every project from day one, it turns renewable energy from a concept into something customers can see working.
The challenge
For IJM Land, sustainability is not an afterthought. It is one of the company's main priorities across every project, considered from day one and built into planning, design and construction rather than tacked on as a box to tick. At Pantai Central Park, that philosophy needed to show up somewhere customers could actually see it.
The I.C.E. gallery posed an interesting question. As a sales gallery it is a temporary space, the kind of building most developers would never fit with solar. But a showroom is exactly where prospective buyers form their impression of what IJM stands for, and the company wanted renewable energy to read as something real and working, not a concept on a brochure. Powering a live, customer-facing space, with its air conditioning, lighting and displays running through the day, meant the system had to be genuinely efficient and cost effective rather than a token gesture. IJM needed a partner who understood commercial solar deeply enough to design the right system for an unusual brief and communicate it clearly to a team for whom sustainability is part of the brand promise.
The results
Working with i2 Energy, IJM brought solar to the I.C.E. gallery and let it do the talking. The system powers the space end to end, running the air conditioning, lighting and displays that keep the gallery open, so visitors can watch renewable energy at work rather than simply hear about it.
